King County Community Development Program makes capital investments in our community through management of several different fund sources such as the Best Starts for Kids (BSK) Levy, Puget Sound Taxpayers Accountability Account (PSTAA) and the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG): funds that come from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
- Sidewalks
- Community and recreation facilities
- Child care and early learning facilities
- Sewer and water main projects
- ADA improvements
- Microenterprise assistance
- Park improvements
- Minor home repair programs
- Affordable family or youth housing
Eligible applicants include:
- Nonprofit organizations
- Local governments (including cities, special districts and other King County departments)
- Public housing authorities
Consortium
King County and the cities in King County cooperate in an urban county consortium to further the broad goals of the federal CDBG programs. In order to carry out these activities, King County and the Consortium have agreed to a decision-making structure.
