Metropolitan King County Council Vice Chair Reagan Dunn announced that four local organizations across the Greater Maple Valley area will receive a financial boost from King County to support their work in the community. This funding was appropriated directly to the winning organizations through King County’s supplemental omnibus budget, which the King Council approved on June 26th.

“I am pleased to be able to help out these organizations that invest so much in the Greater Maple Valley community,” said Dunn. “These folks are doing great work and I know these funds will go a long way for them and the people they serve.”

Four organizations have been awarded a total of $10,000, including:

The Maple Valley Creative Arts Council received $2,500 from King County’s Community Services Operating Fund in support of their work cultivating and promoting the arts in their community.

"The Maple Valley Creative Arts Council thanks King County Council Member Reagan Dunn for his support of the Paint By Tunnels project with the grant of $2500,” said President Mary Jane Glaser. “Local partners are contributing to the first annual community and county project to paint murals in the historic railroad tunnels that exist along the trail that winds through Maple Valley.  It is our vision that people of all ages will participate in annual festivals to paint new murals in the tunnels and celebrate music, art and STEM projects.  We appreciate the support and shared vision that Reagan Dunn has offered our organization and community, once again.  Thank you, Reagan!"

Maple Valley PONY Baseball & Fastpitch received $5,000 from the County’s Youth & Amateur Sports Fund to help finance their baseball program and keep it affordable for local families.

The Greater Maple Valley Veterans Memorial Foundation received $2,000 from King County’s Veterans Service Organizations Grant Program to support their memorial and activities for veterans.

With the passing of King County’s supplemental omnibus budget, $48,500 in funding was allocated to community groups across Council District 9.
