Youth Sports, Veterans and Health Services in Enumclaw Awarded Funding from King County

Metropolitan King County Council Vice Chair Reagan Dunn (District 9) announced that three local Enumclaw organizations will receive a financial boost from King County to support their work in the community. This funding was appropriated directly to the organizations through King County’s supplemental omnibus budget, which the King County Council approved on June 26th.

This funding was appropriated directly to the organizations through King County’s supplemental omnibus budget, which the King County Council approved on June 26th.

“It’s important to support those groups that have their boots on the ground—doing real, meaningful work for people day in and day out,” said Dunn. “Each of these organizations plays a crucial role in the Enumclaw community and I’m pleased to help secure funding for their work.”

Three organizations have been awarded a total of $13,500:

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1949 received $7,500 from King County’s Veterans Service Organizations Grant Program.

“The men and women of Enumclaw VFW Post 1949 sincerely thank Councilmember Reagan Dunn for his efforts in obtaining a grant,” said Post Quartermaster Al Zarb. “This will greatly help us to retire the cost of an emergency repair to our post home.”

Chinook Little League received $5,000 from the County’s Youth & Amateur Sports Fund to help finance their activities and keep them affordable for local families.

The Rainier Foothills Wellness Foundation received a $1,000 grant from King County’s Community Services Operating Fund in support of their work provide health services across the Enumclaw Plateau.

With the passage of King County’s supplemental omnibus budget, $48,500 in funding was allocated to community groups across Council District 9.
