Metropolitan King County Council Vice Chair Reagan Dunn released this statement on today’s agreement to end the 34-day shutdown of the federal government:“I’m heartened to hear both parties have come together to find a way to re-open the federal government.
“The hardship all federal employees and their families have endured is unacceptable. Not only has this deeply impacted their lives, it has also limited the government’s ability to carry out the important responsibilities it performs on behalf of the citizens of our country.
“I hope this is the first step toward bipartisan leadership in DC to permanently end this ongoing impasse.”
