Councilmember Pete von Reichbauer of South King County was reappointed and unanimously confirmed by the Metropolitan King County Council to the Sound Transit Board of Directors, making him the longest serving member on the current board.von Reichbauer has been an advocate for improved transportation access for South King County residents since first being appointed to the board in 2004.

“Serving on the Sound Transit Board has allowed me to strongly advocate for the often forgotten areas within the Regional Transit Authority,” said von Reichbauer. “As someone who grew up in Pierce County and has represented the South King County region on the King County Council, I will continue to fight for the commuters of the south Puget Sound region to make sure these areas receive the funding and attention they deserve.”
Sound Transit is a three-county regional transit authority tasked with implementing a regional transportation plan using buses, commuter and light rail. Sound Transit is governed by an 18-member board consisting of 17 local elected officials and the Secretary of the Washington State Department of Transportation.
Von Reichbauer’s term expires in December 2021.
