King County Councilmember Rod Dembowski joined local veterans on Memorial Day and gave remarks commemorating the 60th Anniversary of the end of the Korean War at Acacia Memorial Park and Evergreen-Washelli Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery. Rod was joined by his father, Al Dembowski, a Korean War Army Veteran, and his sons Evan and Camden.

King County runs a Veterans Program to assist veterans with housing, health care, and job training needs. You can learn more here.

King County also sponsors the HERO program for veterans. More information on the HERO program is contained in this video.

The King County Council will conduct a special recognition reception and ceremony at its meeting on Monday, July 22 at 1:00 pm to mark the 60th Anniversary of the Armistice. All veterans and family members, particularly those who served during the Korean War, are invited to attend.
