Discover how King County is engaging the community around the Lakeland Hills Pump Station Replacement.
King County will work with community groups and interested parties to provide project information, identify issues and solutions, list potential impacts, and feedback. We will work with interested community members to understand what concerns the community has regarding Roegner Park and the current pump station location. We will review what input has already been given, and seek feedback from community members.
How can the community learn more or get involved?
If you would like to invite the project team to your group for a briefing, please email Lakelandhills@kingcounty.gov or call 206-263-1614.
Here are some options available to you:
- In-person briefing: Meet with project team members in person to provide a briefing where you can ask questions and receive information about the project.
- Virtual briefing: If you prefer meeting virtually, we are just as happy to make that happen for your group.
- Email/text update: Subscribe to our newsletter to receive email updates and other materials that explain the project, goals, and important dates to share with your group or community.
- Recorded presentation: For larger groups with scheduling conflicts, we can provide a pre-recorded presentation that can be viewed at any time.
- Tabling at your event: If you are hosting a community event, we can set up a table, bring materials, answer questions, and learn about what’s important to you for this project.
How will you use community feedback in this project?
During this planning and alternatives analysis phase (summer of 2023 to end of 2024), our goal is to work with interested community members to understand:
- What you care about
- What you value
- What concerns you have about the neighborhood including park space, nearby trail network and possible pump station locations
We will review previous community input (for example, coordinating with City of Auburn on the 2023 Recreation and Open Space Survey), and seek more feedback from community members.
During the design phases (2024 to 2027), we will:
- Use what we have learned about community values and priorities to inform the pump station design
- Ask the community for feedback on design elements that are important to the community
Then, during the construction phase (2027 to 2030), we will - Work with the City of Auburn, park users, schools, and neighbors to provide advance notice of construction activities.
