About Councilmember Sarah Perry
King County Councilmember Sarah Perry is King County Council’s newest elected official! She represents King County District 3, a diverse and growing region with a district that represents the cities and/or surrounding areas of:
- Issaquah
- Sammamish
- Redmond
- Woodinville
- Bothell
- Carnation
- Duvall
- Fall City
- Preston
- Snoqualmie
- North Bend
- Snoqualmie Pass
- Skykomish
Councilmember Perry has been a champion of behavioral health and has 30+ years of experience working in the non-profit and small business sectors. As a coalition builder, she is known for her expertise in creating strong foundations of civic collaboration and engagement to build progress in communities. She is a community leader who embraces inclusion and economic opportunity for all, increasing access to affordable housing and transit, and tackling climate change with the urgency required to protect all our communities. Her main priorities are:
- environmental protection
- transit alternatives
- small businesses engagement and support
- equity, access, and opportunity
- innovative ways to meet the demand for behavioral health resources
Sarah works at her consulting business called Perry Consulting. She has also worked as:
- Chief Development Officer at Social Venture Partners International
- Executive Director at Eastside Housing (now Springboard Alliance)
- Senior Director of University Initiatives at Seattle University
- Senior Director at Encompass (formerly Children's Services of Sno-Valley
She co-founded the Si View Indoor Playground (North Bend) and started the Fall City Neighbors newsletter. Both of these community resources are still active today. Sarah is a member of the Issaquah Kiwanis Club, Sno-Valley and Greater Issaquah Chambers of Commerce, One-Redmond. She is a former member of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). Sarah also volunteers at the Issaquah Meals Program, and the Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank. She volunteers both through Kiwanis and her church, Spirit of Peace UCC. Sarah lives in Issaquah with her husband, Bill Ramos, and their dog, Sadie.
