Summary and download
The King County Hazardous Waste Management Program (HWMP) and its Residential Services Program (RSP) are seeking applications from community-based organizations to deliver Safer Choices and hazardous waste disposal education across King County. The primary goal of this RFA is to reduce household exposure to harmful chemicals by increasing community awareness, promoting safer product alternatives, and supporting proper disposal practices. This RFA prioritizes organizations deeply rooted in historically underserved communities and seeks trusted messengers who can deliver culturally responsive, intergenerational environmental health education. Over the two-year grant period (2026–2027), funded partners will host community events and workshops, tailor safer-choices messaging for diverse audiences, engage residents in interactive learning, and track participation.
