The Veterans, Seniors, and Human Services Levy (VSHSL) Implementation Plan is a strategy-by-strategy plan that details how the 2024-2029 VSHSL proceeds will be invested in King County’s communities to improve overall health and well-being, help communities thrive, and reduce disparities throughout King County. 

The timeline below shares the procurement timeline estimates for the plan’s strategies and programs, and information about any community planning sessions that may be held to shape Requests for Proposals (RFPs) or other competitive procurement processes.

Request for Proposals (RFP) for SE 7: Vets Engaged

The King County Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS) is pleased to release this Request for Proposals (RFP) for SE 7: Vets Engaged with funding from the Veterans, Seniors, and Human Services Levy (VSHSL). The SE 7: Vets Engaged opportunity awards small grants for community-building events and activities that increase social engagement and connection for veterans, military servicemembers, and their respective families. This program strives to reduce veterans’ feelings of isolation by providing socialization opportunities, bridging the military-civilian divide, and helping address the inequities they may face.

Request for Proposals (RFP) for SE 9: Short-Term Engagement Projects

The King County Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS) is pleased to release this Request for Proposals (RFP) for SE 7: Vets Engaged with funding from the Veterans, Seniors, and Human Services Levy (VSHSL). The SE 9: Short-Term Engagement Projects opportunity awards small grants for community-building events and activities that increase social engagement and connection for seniors and members of resilient communities in King County. This program strives to reduce inequities and experiences of isolation by providing opportunities to socialize and creatively build community.

Request for Applications (RFA) for Technical Assistance and Capacity Building Mini Grants

The King County Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS) is pleased to release this Request for Applications (RFA) for Technical Assistance and Capacity Building Mini Grants with funding from the Veterans, Seniors, and Human Services Levy (VSHSL). The TACB RFA aims to strengthen the capacity and improve performance of programs, services, and processes within small to midsize organizations with an active Veterans, Seniors, and Humans Services Levy (VSHSL) contract providing human services in King County.
