Executive Constantine proposes $600 million American Rescue Plan budget – public health, community supports, jobs and economic recovery
King County Executive Dow Constantine today transmitted a $600 million spending plan to the King County Council, funded in part by the American Rescue Plan. Executive Constantine’s priorities include continuing the public health response and increasing vaccinations; community supports and anti-racist-work; economic recovery with a new program that promotes access to jobs and housing supports.

The FLASH sexual health education curriculum developed by Public Health – Seattle & King County has proven effective in reducing teen pregnancy in a newly published research study. Since the 1990’s, FLASH has been a cornerstone of King County’s exceptionally low teen pregnancy rates. In 2017, the Trump administration sought to stop a national study of FLASH until a successful lawsuit filed by King County in federal court reinstated funding.

King County Metro restores bus trips, revises schedules for semiannual service change March 20
Responding to fluctuating ridership, King County Metro will restore and revise transit service March 20 as part of its regular spring service change. More trips will be added to 15 routes where ridership demand is strongest, while individual trips will be suspended on 10 peak weekday routes due to low ridership.
