Runway 14L/32R to close through mid-November

Work will also affect operations on main runway and Taxiway A

Construction will begin August 19 on Runway 14L/32R, also known as the small or utility runway, at King County International Airport-Boeing Field. The runway will be closed through at least mid-November.

During this work, the centerline of Taxiway A will be shifted to the east and wingspan restrictions will be in place. The Taxiway A restrictions are as follows:

  • Twy A8 to UPS Gate 6: ADG IV (maximum 171-foot wingspan)
  • UPS Gate 6 to UPS Gate 4: B767-3F or smaller (maximum 156-foot wingspan)
  • UPS Gate 4 to Twy A2: G650 or smaller (maximum 99-foot wingspan)

Other areas of Taxiway A will remain unchanged.

Tenants and operators utilizing the Vehicle Service Road (VSR) adjacent to Taxiway A should use caution when driving on the VSR in the vicinity of the work site, as the taxiway centerline is being moved closer to the VSR.

In addition to the full closure of Runway 14L/32R, the airport will also close the main runway, Runway 14R/32L, each night to complete this work. These overnight closures are also anticipated to last through mid-November. Updates will be posted with any changes.
