Subagent assignment

Subagents are privately-owned businesses that are appointed by the state Department of Licensing (DOL) to perform vehicle and vessel title and licensing services. Once the DOL has appointed a subagent, then the county may contract with the subagent to perform title and licensing services.

King County contracts with subagents that provide 21 licensing locations throughout the region. Justification for a new subagent location is based on area and transactional statistics which is reviewed and approved by DOL.
