Public engagement
Discover how King County is engaging the community around the South Interceptor Rehabilitation Project.
How we work with the community
King County is committed to keeping the community informed as the project moves forward. We are currently at the design stage.
As design moves forward, we will share more details about the planned pipeline repairs, temporary pipes and pumps, and what the community can expect during construction. We would also listen to your feedback to shape the project from design to construction.
Translated materials and interpretation will be available as needed. You can stay informed and take part in several ways, including:
- Email and project updates
- Newsletters, fact sheets, and notifications
- Briefings to local community groups, organizations and nearby cities
- Community surveys and outreach events
We will work with you to:
- Better understand community needs and concerns
- Identify potential impacts
- Share project information such as schedules, upcoming work, and design updates.
- Gather feedback
Construction is expected to begin by Spring 2028. We know construction can be disruptive. We will let you know what to expect so you can plan ahead.
