The King County Veterans, Seniors, and Human Services Levy (VSHSL) connects servicemembers, veterans and their families, residents age 55 or older and resilient communities to programs and services that help them live healthy, productive, and meaningful lives. This is done through programming structured in five result areas: housing stability, healthy living, financial stability, social engagement, and service system access and improvement. In its sixth year, the VSHSL focused on working together with partners to strengthen King County’s communities. The VSHSL addressed diverse community needs, enhanced service delivery through collaboration and innovation, supported the nonprofit workforce to ensure sustainable and effective human services, and built a trusted network of services for King County’s veterans, seniors, and resilient communities.
In the last year of the 2018-2023 VSHSL, the levy continued to provide reliable and flexible programming that filled critical gaps in services for communities across King County. In all, the levy provided services to more than 72,500 people.
