Dunn: Efficiencies key to maintaining budget, restoring vital services in SE King County
Summary
Story
Metropolitan King County Councilmember Reagan Dunn released this statement after County Executive Dow Constantine presented his 2014 Executive Proposed Budget to the Council:“I’m encouraged by the progress we have made in increasing efficiencies within county government. Savings from these efficiencies will go a long way to maintaining vital services and helping to restore some that were cut in past budgets.
“Specifically, the residents of SE King County will be thankful that the re-opening of the Hicks-Raburn Precinct in Maple Valley is part of the Executive’s proposed budget. This was a huge loss to the community when it was closed and I pledge to work diligently with my colleagues on the Council to insure funding for the Hicks-Raburn Precinct remains in the final budget.
“As the budget process goes forward, I will work closely with the Council’s Budget Leadership Team and the Executive to ensure we adopt a County Budget that serves the needs of all our residents.”
