NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Proposed Ordinance 2026-0014

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a public hearing will be held before the Metropolitan King County Council on February 24, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. to consider adoption of Proposed Ordinance 2026-0014, an ordinance that would authorize the Executive to enter into a housing cooperation agreement with the Housing Authority of the County of King.

The public hearing will be held at the King County Courthouse, 516 3rd Avenue, Room 1001, Seattle; remote public testimony on Zoom will also be accepted. Written public testimony will be accepted from 9 a.m. on January 23, 2026 through 10 a.m. on February 24, 2026, by sending such public testimony to clerk.council@kingcounty.gov. Please include the legislation number and related agenda item in the subject line. It is expected that the Council will take action on this Proposed Ordinance at the February 24, 2026 meeting following the public hearing.

 

SUMMARY:

The Proposed Ordinance would authorize the Executive to enter into a housing cooperation agreement, which is allowed under chapter 35.83 RCW.  The housing cooperation agreement concerns development of a property in the Skyway-West Hill geography of unincorporated King County, and includes a mobile home park/manufactured housing community on the Property consisting of approximately 30 homes affordable to households earning 80% AMI or less.  The housing cooperation agreement would modify certain County development standards, including on-site tree replacement, minimum street setbacks, projections into setbacks, recreation area dimensions and configurations, recreation facilities and children’s play area, solid waste and recyclable storage points and design, fences, landscaping, and off-street parking.
