NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan King County Council (the Council) held a public hearing on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 beginning at 11:00 AM to consider adoption of Proposed Ordinance 2025-0320 (Ordinance 20016), an ordinance adopting the capital facilities plans of the Auburn, Enumclaw, Federal Way, Fife, Highline, Issaquah, Kent, Northshore, Lake Washington, Renton, Riverview, Snoqualmie Valley and Tahoma School Districts, and adopting school impact fees for these districts. The Council adopted this Ordinance at the Tuesday, November 18, 2025, meeting.

SUMMARY:

King County administers school impact fees on behalf of each school district that participates, by collecting fees from residential developers.  The fees are developed by the individual school districts in accordance with provisions in state law and the King County Code, and are set forth in the districts’ capital facilities plans.

Ordinance 20016 amends Title 20 to update the school capital facilities plans and Title 27 to implement the collection of impact fees by the county on behalf of the following school districts, effective January 1, 2026:
