Final dependent eligibility verification period extended to Sept. 19

The two-month dependent eligibility verification through Mercer Consulting is now over. Mercer resources—including their website, call center, and mailing address—are no longer available.

More than 93% of King County employees have verified the eligibility of their covered family members. To allow the remaining employees one last opportunity to provide the required documentation, the King County benefits office is conducting an additional 30-day final verification period from Aug. 20 – Sept. 19, 2024.

If you cover a family member on your King County medical, dental, or vision plan, and you did not complete the verification, follow the steps below by Sept. 19, 2024, to ensure your family member does not lose coverage on Sept. 30, 2024:

  • Refer to the information sent previously by Mercer to see which family members need to be verified and what documentation is required. You can also contact the Benefits team at 206-684-1556 or KC Benefits.
  • Review the updated Dependent Eligibility Verification FAQ.
  • Block out personal financial data and Social Security numbers on your documentation.
  • Include a Benefit Access Fee Audit form if your spouse or state-registered domestic partner is enrolled in the KingCare PPO medical plan.
  • Submit electronic or paper documents for each family member by Sept. 19, 2024, along with your name and PeopleSoft ID to:
