Road closure required Nov. 6-22 at Green River Road and 94th Place S for ‘Cleaning and No Parking’ project
November 3, 2023
SUMMARY
From Nov. 6 to Nov. 22, King County will close portions of Green River Road and 94th Place S in the unincorporated area to clear, clean, secure, and enforce “No Parking” along the right-of-way. All vehicles will be required to permanently move.
STORY
The project was initiated this past summer when the King County Council approved supplemental budget funding to restore the area. From Nov. 6-22, King County Local Services will close portions of Green River Road and 94th Place S as part of a “Cleaning and No Parking” project intended to address clearing, cleaning, securing, and enforcing "No Parking" along the road right-of-way areas.
All vehicles will be required to permanently move. Barriers, fencing, and "No Parking" signage will be installed in the area to maintain public safety of the right of way.
The road closure will be in effect 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during this period. Access will be available only to emergency response vehicles. A detour route will be provided for all other traffic.
For those who are parked in public right of way in the area:
- All vehicles will be required to leave the area by 8 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 6 and will not be allowed to return.
- Outreach teams will be working with individuals in advance of the removal of vehicles and clean-up of the road.
- King County will provide access to a temporary off-site parking lot for people living in vehicles and RVs who are displaced by the project.
- Vouchers for use of the parking lot will be available prior to the project start date.
- The secure parking lot will be available from 8 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4 until noon on Thursday, Nov. 9.
- Restrooms, handwashing stations, dumpster, and outreach services will be provided.
