Executive Constantine on the passing of William Ruckelshaus: "a legacy of integrity"

Summary

King County Executive Dow Constantine released the following statement on the passing of William Ruckelshaus

Story

As the nation once again witnesses impeachment proceedings and national discord, it is fitting to acknowledge the contributions of someone who will be forever known for his strength of character and conviction during times of crisis.

Longtime Seattle resident William Ruckelshaus stood up to President Nixon, stood strongly for our environment, and earned the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Closer to home, he served on many nonprofit boards and created the William D. Ruckelshaus Center in Seattle and Pullman to bring people together to solve problems.

He leaves a legacy of integrity that will be remembered here in King County, and across the nation.
