Street medicine for people living unsheltered

The Street Medicine Team is a partnership with Public Health — Seattle & King County and Downtown Emergency Services. It was born out of the recognized need to bring health services directly to those living unsheltered in our communities.

Our mission to ensure people who are unsheltered in King County have access to the health care they deserve, on their terms. We provide person centered services that are equitable and racially just through a harm reduction, trauma informed lens.

What do we do?

  • Health checks and assessments
  • STI/STD, HIV, Hepatitis C, Syphilis tests
  • Wound care
  • Foot care
  • Pregnancy tests and birth control
  • Narcan overdose training and kits
  • Suboxone
  • Immunizations
  • COVID testing
  • Medical insurance sign ups
  • Housing assessments (VI-SPDATs, VATs)
  • Linkages to housing and shelter
  • Linkages to behavioral health teams
  • Basic needs: water, snacks, hygiene kits

If you or an unsheltered friend, family member, community member, client or patient needs one of the things listed in our offered services give us a call, text or email with as much of the following information as you can:

  • Their name and a description of where they are located or can be found. Do they have contact information or a way to get in touch with them?
  • Which of our services are they wanting?
  • Are they interested in medical care?
  • Nature of your relationship with them

Reminders:

  • We prioritize people who sleep outside who are not able to access more traditional care
  • We only work within King County
  • We cannot provide any emergency medical care
  • We will try our best to respond to referrals within 1 week
  • We follow privacy laws so we may not be able to let you know the outcome of the referral

This calendar is updated weekly on Mondays and is subject to change as referrals are received and triaged.
