NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a public hearing will be held before the Metropolitan King County Council on the 19th day of November 2024, at 11:00 a.m. to consider adoption of Proposed Ordinance 2024-0299, an ordinance that would adopt the 2025 King County Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). The CIP becomes the capital facilities component of the King County Comprehensive Plan and is adopted as an amendment to the King County Comprehensive Plan. The 2025-2030 King County CIP, as adopted by the County Council, will satisfy the Growth Management Act requirement to provide a six-year plan that will finance capital facilities within projected funding capacities and clearly identify sources of public money for those capital facilities.
The public hearing will be held at the King County Courthouse, 516 3rd Avenue, Room 1001, Seattle; remote public testimony on Zoom will also be accepted. Written public testimony will be accepted from 9 a.m. on October 15, 2024 through 9 a.m. on November 19, 2024, by sending such public testimony to clerk.council@kingcounty.gov. SUMMARY
The CIP budget for 2025 is $1.94 billion. Of the $1.94 billion, $678 million for transit capital projects, $159 million for solid waste capital projects, $244 million for parks and conversation capital projects, $136 million for county facilities and information technology capital projects, $101 million for Harborview Medical Center capital projects, $25 million for roads capital projects, $377 million for water and land resources capital projects, and $219 million for King County International Airport capital projects.
Final Action:
Prior to final action, Councilmembers may offer amendments for consideration by the Council. Persons wishing to testify on the Proposed Ordinance should attend the public hearing in person or remotely on November 19, 2024, or provide testimony in writing prior to the hearing.
