2023 Area Report - Residential: Physical inspection areas

Learn more about how inspections work and see which areas are due for appraiser inspections this year.

About inspections

The Assessor's office inspects about 100,000 county properties each year. It ensures that our valuations are accurate and fair.

Inspections generally include an in-person observation of a property. We then compare it to the characteristics on file for the property.

How we perform visual inspections

Our appraisers may need access to side or backyards. They may take photographs of the property and enter information into a tablet device.

They may also need more information from the property owner. In such cases, they'll attempt contact by knocking on the residence's front door. All appraisers carry county identification.
