King County Solid Waste Advisory Committee Appointment

District 7 Resident Cynthia Dampier Appointed as a Citizen Representative

The King County Council's Transportation, Economy, and Environment Committee on Tuesday unanimously confirmed the appointment of Cynthia Dampier, a resident of council District 7, as a citizen representative on the King County Solid Waste Advisory Committee.

The King County Solid Waste Advisory Committee (SWAC) provides input on solid waste management affecting residents and services. It is geographically diverse and comprises up to 20 members. This includes representatives from various sectors, such as public interest groups, labor organizations, the waste management industry, manufacturers, community representatives, recycling and marketing interests, as well as local elected officials. SWAC members are appointed by the King County Executive and must be confirmed by the King County Council. They serve three-year terms and participate on a volunteer basis without compensation.
