Mosqueda Statement on Senseless Death of Metro’s Shawn Yim

King County Councilmember Teresa Mosqueda released the following statement regarding the early morning murder of Metro operator Shawn Yim.

“I am saddened by this tragic loss of life. Shawn was a dedicated public servant and our entire community is mourning his death. My thoughts at this time are with his family. This is a loss for the entire King County family. I also stand in solidarity with the members of ATU 587 who make it possible for all of us to get where we are going every day. They have lost one of their own as well. This senseless taking of a valued life is a call to action for all of us to protect those on the front lines and demand better.
