How records requests work

Within 5 business days of receiving your request, we will:

  • Acknowledge your request
  • Estimate the time necessary to fulfill it
  • Provide the requested records, or
  • Deny all or part of the request, or redact part of the information, telling you why we can't disclose it

How to request records

Include a detailed description of the records you want and your contact information. Use the following examples of how to word your request. For example, if you filed a complaint with the Office of the Ombuds, the request might look like this:

  1. Provide the complete case file in Ombuds Case # [number].
  2. Provide all correspondence between the Ombuds Office and the Department of Permitting and Environmental Review about Permit # [number]. It concerns an application to clear and grade part of my property, located at [address].
