King County Executive Dow Constantine and County Council Chair Bob Ferguson issued the following statements regarding the shooting incident in Pierce County that critically wounded two Sheriff's deputies:

"Today our thoughts are with the wounded Pierce County officers, their families, and all who wear the uniform," said Executive Constantine. "The people of King County stand with the brave men and women throughout our region who serve and protect us every day."

"I pray for the full recovery of the two Pierce County deputies, and my thoughts are with them and their families during this difficult time," said Councilmember Ferguson. "As the region copes with another act of senseless violence, the Pierce County Sheriff's Department and the entire law enforcement community have our unwavering support and appreciation."
