Learn more about this network of 30+ local governments, Tribes, and organizations working to build resilience to the impacts of climate change.
The Puget Sound Climate Preparedness Collaborative (Collaborative) is a network of more than 30 local and county governments, Tribes, regional agencies, and other organizations in the Puget Sound basin.
The Collaborative works together to build community, economic, and environmental resilience to the impacts of climate change. King County co-chairs the Collaborative with the Point No Point Treaty Council.
In 2024, the Collaborative was awarded a Climate Resilience Regional Challenge grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. This 3-year grant will support the following objectives:
- Promote shared learning and accelerate climate preparedness through increased engagement activities and creation of technical resources.
- Support climate preparedness work in smaller and less-resourced jurisdictions and Tribes via creation of a Small Communities Cohort Program.
- Increase regional understanding of climate change impacts on Tribes and Tribal treaty rights through creation of a Tribal Partnerships Learning Series.
- Support local efforts to incorporate equity and social justice in climate preparedness work through development of a Climate Equity Learning Series.
- Inform and support stronger regional alignment in climate preparedness goals and outcomes in the Puget Sound basin.
