Submit your request by mail or online
By mail
Your letter must include the requester's:
- Name
- Address
- Phone number
- Email address
- Clear and detailed description of the specific records they are requesting.

You may also submit your request using the King County online portal. Click on "Make a Public Disclosure Request," then choose "Executive Branch," then click on "Public Defenders" in the final menu.
Our response
A written response to your request will be issued within 5 business days from the receipt of your request.
You can request records from the Department of Public Defense (DPD) under the provisions of the Washington State Public Disclosure Law (RCW 42.56)
