WTD Director
Meet the Wastewater Treatment Division (WTD) Director.
Kamuron Gurol started as the Director of the Wastewater Treatment Division (WTD) in the Department of Natural Resources and Parks in April 2021.
Previously the North Corridor Director for Sound Transit, Kamuron’s portfolio includes 16 miles of light rail transit expansion, six stations, a 60-acre operations and maintenance facility and enhanced Sounder commuter services – with projects ranging in size from $40 million to $4 billion.
Prior to working at Sound Transit, Kamuron was the city manager for Burien, the assistant city manager and director of community development at Sammamish, corridor planning director at WSDOT, director of Community Development at Kitsap County, manager of planning at Snohomish County and a senior policy analyst in the King County Executive’s Office and Budget and Strategic Planning. Kamuron has a Master of Public Administration from Harvard University, Kennedy School of Government, and a Bachelor of Science in Geological Sciences from the University of Washington.
