Grass and grasslike plants

Grass and grass like noxious weeds can change the structure and function of an ecosystem. Native grasses are excellent at absorbing carbon dioxide, in part because the diversity of root structures from the greater variety of plants uses varying depths to the full potential. When any single plant colonizes an area, that advantage is lost.
