Transfer of Development Rights Sales Data

Transferrable Development Rights (TDR) from rural sending sites are used in cities and within unincorporated urban areas of King County. In unincorporated urban areas, each rural TDR equals 2 additional lots in urban subdivision; inside partner cities, each rural TDR equals a specific amount of additional commercial or residential square footage unique to the partner city according to the terms of an interlocal agreement with King County. Rural TDRs are also used in rural King County to increase square footage of an accessory dwelling unit.

Rural TDR transactions occur between private individuals or organizations; they may also be conducted by King County.
