How to Access Court Recordings
You can request and receive a copy of a court hearing through the KC Script Portal, in person, or via mail.
Before selecting the file format for Recording requests, verify the following:
FTR – FTR format is primarily used for transcriptions and is the preferred format of transcribers. Requires customer to download free FTR player application included at time file is sent. Verify if your system or company’s IT will allow player download through firewall prior to submitting your request.
MP3 – Select if using Apple (iOS) or for Windows Player.
If using the ‘Not Seeing Hearing?” button, verify the date, room number, and time using the Minutes in the case.
Audio requests are fulfilled as submitted.
There are no refunds for audio ordered in the wrong format.
Note: If a court reporter was present at the hearing, a digital hearing is not available. In this case, complete this form and submit to Kent or Seattle Records Access. If notes are still retained in our office, they will be given to Superior Court to arrange transcriptions, and then you will complete your request with them. If notes are not available due to the Clerk's retention policy, you will be notified, and notes will not be provided. Court reporter notes are not available to the public.
